Terms

• Alamo — brand focused on budget-conscious leisure travelers.
• “All-the-way-up and all-the-way-down” — pick up an R1 at Base and deliver to T1 QTA by driving up to the 5th floor, turning right to go to Exit, then all the way down to 1st floor and over to T1 QTA.
• Base — 2500 Stewart Avenue in St. Paul. Home location where drivers are dispatched; R1’s are picked up for return; PM’s/Shops are parked for handling; new vehicles are prepped; glass-damaged vehicles are behind garages.
• Delete — removed from service for possible sale — ends up at N5.
• Dirties — a.k.a. “returns”; vehicles driven to T1 QTA or T2 QTA for washing.
• Emerald Aisle — loyalty program benefit to bypass counter and choose vehicle from the Emerald Aisle.
• Enterprise — Enterprise Rent-A-Car; known for “home city” (branches) rentals.
• Executive — loyalty program offering counter bypass and choice of vehicle.
• Exotics — luxury brand vehicles (e.g., BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis); often parked at T1 by “the wall.”
• Flashers — dual flashing hazard lights turned on when entering vehicles to the airport. Used to ID Enterprise drivers and aid staff to direct vehicle parking.
• HC (Home Cities) — another name for Branches. Typically picked up at T1 2nd floor and driven to a branch; Chase vehicle meets you there.
• Lease returns — picked up from customer locations and returned to Roseville (1905).
• LP — window marking “License Plate” needing renewal. Some branches renew their own; others deliver to Airport LP line on T1 2nd floor near Fred’s office.
• National — brand typically targeting business travelers.
• Plates — license plates / LP’s; remove from WI’s at dealer delivery and return to Base admin office.
• R1’s — returns from Base typically to T1 2nd floor & placed in cleaning line; if lines are full, may go to T1 QTA (“all-the-way-up and all-the-way-down”) or to T2 QTA dirty lines.
• Roseville — 2755 Long Lake Road - central hub for Truck returns, Leased vehicle returns, Rental returns and Re-marketing/resale returns to be refurbished for dealer sale.
• Shops — generic term for vehicles returned to Base for PM or shop repairs. Typically picked up to the right of T1 2nd-floor Return lanes or to the right of “dirties” at T2 QTA.
• Shops (window codes)
  • MR — Manufacturer’s Recall — back to Base, Shop line.
  • PM — Preventative Maintenance — oil change or tires — goes in the PM line at Base.
  • BD — Body Damage — glass or body repair — Shop line or behind garage for glass repair.
  • CEL — Check Engine Light — Shop line at Base.
• The Hill — vehicle overflow staging area to the right of the T2 QTA lines where "Shops" and/or "Clean" vehicles are ready for movement.
• Transport — long, double-decker vehicle used to move and deliver vehicles.
• Up and Downs — crew at T1 that picks vehicles in Return Lane, drives down to T1 QTA to park in wash line, then takes elevator up to 2nd floor to repeat. Can also be run by meeting the Chase at the QTA turnaround.
• T1 QTA — Terminal 1 Quick Turnaround (cleaning area on 1st floor). Lane 4: Exotics; Lane 3: large SUVs/Trucks; Lanes 1–2: sedans/smaller SUVs. Chase meets in turnaround left of clean lanes. See T1 QTA tab for animated example.
• T2 QTA — Terminal 2 Quick Turnaround. Several lanes; no specific types. Chase parks to the left outside clean lanes; left-most outside lane reserved for cleaned vehicles. See T2 QTA tab for animated example.
• T1 Ready Line(s) — 3rd floor of T1 where customers pick up vehicles. After parking, ensure radio off/down, trunk open, keys on dash. Vehicles are backed in. See T1 Ready tab for animated map. Lanes include Alamo, Enterprise, National, Executive, Emerald Club.
• T2 Ready Line — 1st floor of T2 where customers pick up vehicles. Drivers are directed by Lead where to park (front-first into diagonal slots). Ensure radio off/down, trunk open, keys on dash when exiting. See T2 Ready tab for animated map.
• WI (Wholesale Inventory) — vehicles picked up at Airport or elsewhere and delivered to N5 for cleaning and sale preparation.
• Wiper up — a vertical window wiper means special handling; see Lead Driver before moving.
